How to Set an Investor (Read-Only) Password

An Investor Password (Read-Only Password) is a password with view-only access. Its primary purposes include: Providing investors with transparent access to account activity; Allowing trainees or third parties to observe trading activity for learning purposes; Enabling account monitoring without permission to execute trades or modify settings, ensuring account security.
Procedure
Step 1: Open the Options Window
- Open MetaTrader 4 (MT4) or MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
- Click “Tools” in the top menu
- Select “Options” to open the settings window
Step 2: Select the Server Tab
- In the Options window, click the “Server” tab
- Click the “Change” button
Step 3: Modify the Investor (Read-Only) Password

- In the “Change Password” window:
- Enter your Master Password in the “Current Password” field
- Select “Change Investor Password”
- Enter the new investor password twice and click “OK” to confirm
Important Notes
- Ensure the new password meets the platform’s password rules
- Record and store the password securely to avoid loss or disclosure
- The investor password is view-only, and cannot be used to execute trades or modify account settings
