1. Platform Types and Tradeable Products
FP Markets offers MT4 and MT5 platforms supporting spot and futures trading. Tradeable CFDs include forex, stocks, indices, precious metals, commodities, cryptocurrencies, and bonds.
2. Platform Download and Login
- Log in to the client portal → Download page → Get MT4/MT5.
- Supported on Windows, Mac, Android, iOS.
- MT4/MT5 login: enter account number, password → select server (Live: FPMarketsLLC-Live; Demo: FPMarketsLLC-Demo).
3. Platform Fees
- MT4/MT5 is completely free, with no subscription fee.
- Web-based versions are available for use without installation.
4. Platform Language and Display Settings
- Change language: View → Language → select language → restart platform.
- Charts display the Ask price by default; to show Bid: right-click → Properties → Common → check “Show Bid line.”
5. Placing and Modifying Orders
- New Order: Market Watch → right-click product → New Order → fill in parameters → confirm.
- Modify pending orders: right-click → Modify/Delete → input new price → confirm.
- Stop Loss / Take Profit: set in new order or right-click open position → Modify Order → input price.
- Close position: right-click open position → Close → confirm price and volume.
6. Account Information and History
- View balance, equity, and free margin: Navigation → Account → Trade.
- Download statements: Account History → Custom period → Save as report (HTML/CSV/PDF).
- Download historical data: Tools → History Center → select product & time frame → Download.
7. Indicators, Scripts, and EAs
- Install indicators: place files in “Indicators” folder → load via navigation → apply to chart.
- Install scripts: place files in “Scripts” folder → load via navigation → execute script.
- Install EA: place files in “Experts” folder → activate EA → enable automated trading.
8. Common Platform Issues and Solutions
- “Invalid account”: check account and password (case sensitive); if unresolved, reset via client portal.
- “No connection”: check network or server address, contact support.
- “Trade busy”: server load or network latency, retry later.
- Market Watch symbols greyed out: product unavailable or unauthorized, try relogin or contact support.
9. Hotkeys and Trading Alerts
- Hotkeys: Tools → Options → Hotkeys → customize.
- Alerts: Market Watch → right-click → Alerts → set conditions & notifications.
10. Economic Calendar and Order Execution Modes
When placing orders, select Instant Execution or Pending Order execution mode, set parameters, and confirm.
MT5 has built-in economic calendar; MT4 uses plugin or web.
